The Sofala Provincial Delegation of the National Health Institute (INS) is headquartered in the City of Beira.
Provincial Delegation Functions
The functions of the Provincial Delegation of the INS are as follows:
- Coordinate INS activities at the local level;
- Supervise and monitor the implementation of the national health research agenda at the local level;
- Develop clinical, epidemiological, and socio-anthropological research, based on local priorities;
- Assess the health situation and its determinants at the local level.;
- Evaluate technologies applied to disease prevention and control;
- Contribute to laboratory diagnosis in the face of epidemic outbreaks;
- Perform quality control of laboratory analyses;
- Establish the link between the INS and the Provincial Government and other local and local power entities, within the scope of the institution's attributions.;
- Ensure the execution of the INS's annual activity plans and budget at the local level, and report on their fulfillment;
- Perform other activities that are superiorly determined for you under the terms of the INS Organic Statute and other applicable legislation.
The Provincial Delegation of Sofala of INS is headed by a Provincial Delegate, appointed by the Minister who oversees the Health sector upon proposal by the Director-General of INS.
The Delegate reports to the Director-General of the INS, without prejudice to the coordination and cooperation with the Provincial Governments, in accordance with the Law.
Structure
The Sofala Provincial Delegation of INS has the following structure:
- Department of Research, Training, and Health Inquiries;
- Department of Administration and Finance;
- Procurement Department;
- Beira Operational Research Centre;
- Sofala Public Health Laboratory
