Functions of the Health Investigations and Surveillance Division:

  • Assess the health situation and its determinants;
  • Compile and integrate information on relevant aspects of the population's health and its determinants, including the healthcare system.;
  • Conducting surveys to determine the occurrence of pathologies, risk factors, and health determinants;
  • Conduct integrated public health indicator monitoring;
  • Achievements and projections to assess trends in public health conditions and their determinants;
  • Generate information on the occurrence of diseases through the implementation of sentinel surveillance.;
  • Conduct investigations of outbreaks and special public health events;
  • Perform other activities as superiorly determined under the terms of this statute and other applicable legislation.
