Functions of the Public Health Laboratories Division:

  • Contribution to laboratory diagnostics in the face of epidemic outbreaks:
  • Perform quality control of laboratory analyses through a laboratory referral system:
  • Ensure biosecurity aspects related to the operation of reference laboratories:
  • Manage the analytical activities of the INS laboratories;
  • Contribute to strengthening the quality system at the National Health Service laboratories level;
  • Serve as a laboratory reference for disease control and prevention programs, including reportable diseases, in public and private institutions.;
  • Perform laboratory testing pertaining to the scientific investigation carried out by the INS;
  • To perform other duties that are superiorly determined by the terms of this Statute and other applicable legislation.
