The functions of the Division of Health Communication and Scientific Education are:

  • Carry out postgraduate and continuing education courses for health personnel in coordination with the Ministers overseeing the areas of Education and Higher Education;
  • To collaborate with educational institutions in training personnel for healthcare careers at the intermediate and higher education levels, in coordination with the Ministry that oversees education.;
  • To cooperate with domestic and foreign scientific institutions and international development assistance agencies in order to promote technology transfer, and the training and development of national researchers and technicians;
  • Promote technical and scientific dissemination activities related to Public Health.;
  • Editing scientific journals, technical-scientific pamphlets, and the Mozambican Health Collection;
  • Organize events, technical-scientific congresses, and other actions aimed at disseminating technical-scientific information;
  • Manage the National Health Library;
  • Promote the development of health and wellness documentation centers to support teaching, scientific research, and public information;
  • Carry out health and wellness outreach activities, including advisory and consulting services;
  • Carry out other activities that are duly determined by it under the terms of this statute and applicable legislation.
