She holds a degree in Biological Sciences from Eduardo Mondlane University in Mozambique (2006), a Master's degree in Medical Sciences from the Karolinska Institute in Sweden (2011), and a Ph.D. in Medical Sciences from the Karolinska Institute in Sweden and Eduardo Mondlane University (2015).

Has research experience in the areas of bacteriology, molecular techniques, respiratory infections, new technological platforms in health, clinical trials, and immunology.

There are articles published in scientific journals such as African Journal of Laboratory Medicine, PLOS ONE, PubMed, Elsevier, BMC Infectious Diseases, ERJ Open Research, International Journal of Tuberculosis and Lung Disease, and Biomed Research International.

Between 2009 and 2010, she held the position of Head of the Bacteriology Laboratory. From 2010 to 2014, she was the coordinator of the Tuberculosis Reference Laboratories, and from 2014 to 2018, she headed the Department of the Network of Laboratories and Reference Services. Between 2018 and 2022, she took on the role of Director of the Public Health Laboratories Area at INS.

In March 2023, she was appointed Deputy Director-General of the INS, a position she currently holds.
