The National Health Institute, through the Health and Environment Program, including Worker's Health (PSAT), in partnership with the Water Research Institute (IIA), held a seminar in Manhiça, Maputo province, recently, with the objective of raising awareness about the importance of integrating gender issues into water resource management.

The seminar's theme was “Water and Gender” and it was held as part of the commemoration of World Water Day, celebrated annually on March 22nd.

The event brought together about 80 participants, including students, professors, researchers, representatives of civil society, and other stakeholders.

On the occasion, PSAT organized a lecture on the theme “Water, Sanitation, Climate, and Gender: Environmental perspectives and the impact of climate change on public health,” during which it highlighted how sustainable water management and gender equality are fundamental to reducing health risks, strengthening communities, among other aspects.

The initiative marks the beginning of a series of actions that PSAT intends to promote on commemorative dates, as a way to reaffirm its commitment to environmental health, social inclusion, and sustainability policies in the country.
